Inala West State School is situated in a very quiet area away from busy roads and noise and this creates a very peaceful setting. Adjoining the school is a Samoan Christian congregation’s property where they tend gardens and are building a church, and next door a Buddhist temple and seniors housing for the Vietnamese community.
The Inala community is comprised of a mix of residents – some who have lived in the area for many years and others who are new to the area. Many of the children who attend Inala West State School have parents and grandparents who also attended the school. More than 50% of the children come from non-English speaking backgrounds. These include mainly Vietnames and Pacific Island families with a few from Europe, South America and different Asian countries. The Inala Community Renewal program has resulted in many more homes owned by residents and fewer rental properties bringing more stability to the area.
There is a very strong sense of community within Inala and this extends to the Inala West school community.
